I’ve started trying to get my head around ruby on rails. I found this website which has some excellent resources including podcasts for beginners:

At the moment I have to be honest and say that I am completely and utterly baffled. But I am beginning to get a vague sense of what it is - which is a start! It seems like rails are an easy and efficient way of creating a web application that needs to interact with a database. Ruby is the code for this. From what I can gather ruby is a heaps better code than PHP and other like ones. Mainly because of its lack of syntax and use of apparent statements.
